LTO Software

XenData6 Workstation for LTFS Windows
Regular price $690.00 CADXenData6 Workstation software runs on 64 bit Windows 10, 8.1 or Windows 7 and provides high performance archiving to and restoring from LTO cartridges using Windows Explorer. For Mac users, the software is compatible with both Boot Camp and VM Fusion.

Archive and restore operations are always performed using Windows Explorer: the XenData software extends Explorer's capabilities to transfer files to and from LTO using drag and drop or copy and paste. Files may be archived to LTO from any accessible logical drive letter or network share. Similarly, files may be restored to an available drive letter or share.
Functionality includes:
- Writes to LTO using either LTFS or TAR formats
- Maintains file and folder structures, allowing easy transfer of nested folders to and from LTO
- All file types are supported from DPX to MXF or even Word docs
- End to End Logical Block Protection which verifies the integrity of the file written to LTO in real time
- Manages an unlimited number of offline LTO cartridges
- Ability to browse or search for files including those that are offline
- Ability to run reports that provides tape content and file search information even for offline LTO cartridges
- Faster file restores because the XenData6 Workstation software restores files in tape order
- No interleaved file blocks when archiving multiple simultaneous files for better data integrity and faster restores
- Robust capability to restore files from cartridges after misuse such as a power failure to the LTO drive while writing.
The software license allows you to install the software on multiple computers and use an assigned tape drive on any of those computers.

MYLTO FOR MAC
Regular price $420.00 CADEASY LTFS COPY APPLICATION

myLTO for Mac
myLTO for Macintosh is an automated copy utility application geared for media files. The software takes advantage of the Linear File Transfer System (LTFS), developed by IBM and supported by HP, Quantum, Tandberg and other tape drive manufacturers. LTFS is now a SMPTE standard.LTFS mounts a tape as a user defined read/write volume within the computer operating system. This makes it possible to write and read from the tape as if it were a disk and save files in their original format. It also makes myLTO hardware independent you can use it with any Ultrium LTFS compliant LTO-8, LTO-7 or LTO-6 tape drive.

myLTO controls deck functions, such as formatting and mounting tapes, and copy operations onto LTO tape with a simple, easy to use interface. myLTO also does all the checking and correction to ensure your files have LTFS compliant naming, for error free, fast backups.
myLTO features a color-coded progress window, in-depth folder naming options, pause and resume processing, video aware™ reports with metadata and thumbnails.
With the software you may choose to make additional copies of your assets onto multiple LTO drives and local hard disks at the same time. Copies may be verified using checksum integrity algorithms (e.g. XXHash, MD5, etc.) in addition to the LTFS write verification process.
Improve consistency by letting myLTO auto-name output folders. Select from various custom naming conventions. Further organize jobs by nested (sub) folders and label them using concatenated naming conventions such as dates, project names, locations, etc.
Alternatively, you may Drag and Drop files directly to the LTO tape without creating any additional folder names.
Choose from three different report formats including PDFs with thumbs and file metadata. Save reports to a common shared folder for a simple, sharable index to your tapes.

PREROLLPOST FOR MACINTOSH
Regular price $695.00 CADPREROLL POST - LTFS ARCHIVE SYSTEM
Overview:
PreRoll Post is an application that automates indexing your camera originals, complete with thumbs, proxies and metadata while backing up full resolution media to local disk and long-term LTO tapes, Optical Disc or local disk or server.
The software takes advantage of the Linear File Transfer System (LTFS) developed by IBM and supported by HP, MagStor, Quantum, Tandberg and other tape drive manufacturers. LTFS mounts a tape as a volume (hard disk) within OSX. This makes it possible to write and read from the tape as if it were a disk without proprietary software or formatting. It also makes PreRoll Post hardware independent you can use it with any LTFS compliant tape drive or Sony Optical Disc Archive (ODA).
The PreRoll Post software controls copy operations from field hard disks (created using ShotPut Pro) onto LTO-6 tape(s) or ODA cartridges. You may choose to make an additional copy onto local hard disk at the same time. All copies are verified using MD5 checksum integrity algorithms.

Making LTO tapes for delivery to Discovery Channel is a snap. PreRollPost helps automatically fill in metadata and categories for you (since it's "video aware"). So whether you're making Field Footage, Program Master or a Graphics Master tape, count on PreRollPost to get it right the first time. There's even a Discovery Verification Tool built-in to check a tape conforms to the specs.
The backup process is not specific to HD files; it may be used with any files. For example, you can back up NLE project files or entire hard disks if desired.
However, if you are backing up camera originals, PreRollPost has an option to create thumbs and browse quality proxies (using ProxyMill application). The index is saved onto the local hard disk as well as optionally on the LTO tape.
Tapes may be presented to clients as a self-contained "Deliverable" with high-resolution originals, and an index of proxy clips in QuickTime format.
And PreRoll Post features a 'one-click' installer that includes everything you need to easily get LTFS up and running for single drive LTO-6 (or -5) HP, IBM, Quantum, mLogic and Tandberg models. HD-VU and ProxyMill demos included; full license activations for these sold separately.

YoYottaID Mac OSX Backup Software (No LTO/LTFS Support)
Regular price $335.00 CADYoYottaID Backup Software for Mac OSX
Easy 3 Step Backup
- Select Media Source
- Select Backup Destination
- Start Backup
Built in Project and Metadata Store
All media metadata is stored in a local database. Use YoYottaID to catalog your drives, volumes and tapes.
Search for Assets
YoYottaID stores full media metadata including codec, resolution, duration. It's quick to locate media and you can see where it's stored. Open a virtual folder showing all the media from your search in one place. Make PDF reports from searches, handy to give the producer a list of shoot durations for all media types.
Simple Media Management
YoYotta's software runs on Apple Mac hardware. On a production use a Mac mini or Retina MacBook Pro. Use an iMac or MacPro in a cutting room or post house. Connect using USB3 to Media Readers and Thunderbolt to RAID storage. Receive email alerts, create PDF Reports, ensure file permissions are set correctly.
Fast and Secure
As soon as camera cards or drives are connected they will appear on the left in the Media table. Source drives are mounted read-only preventing accidental erasure. YoYottaID calculates an MD5 checksum whilst copying and then verifies against this without any slowdown. See how long the backup will take. When completed the green ticks show that all is correct and a PDF report will keep an audit of the files copied.
Multiple Media and Backups
Cards can be copied to multiple Backup destinations simultaneously. Copy multiple cards at once, or add them to a card for sequential backup. Limited only by the speed of connected storage. Stop an import and pickup later. Span large backups across multiple volumes, disks and tapes.
Unlimited backup size
Start a large backup or archive that won't fit on a single volume. YoYottaID will intelligently fill each volume without splitting shots. Keep adding volumes until the backup is complete. The reports and the database will keep track of where the shots are archived. YoYottaID LTFS will span the backup across multiple tapes. YoYottaID Automation makes it even easier using an LTO Tape Library to backup your SAN without needing to manually swap tapes.
Independent Verify
Each backup is now independently verified. This reduces the verify time.Â
Media cards can now be ejected and removed as soon as verifying starts.
Organize your Media
YoYottaID can make consistent folders based on Project, Day, Date, Camera and Media names. This will make life easy throughout your project. v2 has more flexible tokens for folder names. Presets are automatically recalled for different camera types.
Reporting
YoYottaID creates a PDF report and this can be automatically emailed to all team members without needing to setup any email software. The report contains the media checksums for future reference along with media codec, duration and resolution. This metadata is also in the database and stored as extended attributes in the file directory.
Selective Import
The client brings their slow USB drive into your Post House. You need all the DPX and ARRIRAW files in your grading suite right now. The trouble is the files are all over the drive and there are loads of other file types that you don't need. When you connect a drive YoYottaID will show all the file types. Select the ones you need and YoYottaID will quickly transfer just those. You won't miss a folder hidden away on the drive. These files won't just be dumped into one folder, the original folder structure will be preserved on the destination. Also YoYottaID knows about sidecar files, so if you select MOV you will also get THM, if you select R3D you will also get RMD.
Preview selected files
Here you can easily see that there are over 6 hours of MP4 files on the shuttle drive. Select MP4 in the Type table and press the space key and then YFS will show you all those files in a single Finder window.
YFS (YoYotta File System)
YoYottaID will create a virtual file system called YFS. Here we see all of the MP4 files on the shuttle drive virtualised into one convenient folder. They can be opened as normal.
Smart Queue
If you need to copy multiple high speed cards to the same RAID, then it's often quicker to process them sequentially rather than simultaneously. But this would mean waiting for each backup to complete. YoYottaID will offer to add the backups into a queue. So you can walk away and let it get on, letting you know as each completes.
YoYottaID software runs on Apple Mac OSX El Capitan 10.11, Yosemite 10.10.5, Mavericks 10.9.5 Mac OSX 10.11.4, 10.10.5 or 10.9.5 is needed for YoYottaID Conform and Transcode options.
This version of YoYottaID does not support LTO tape drives or the LTFS protocol.Â
